To find the keys that are adaptable to your keyboard, the most important step is the choice of the type of hinge.
All keyboard keys have a hinge. It is usually in the form of two plastic parts that fix the key on the keyboard. Most keyboard manufacturers use several types of hinges for each keyboard model. It is therefore important to identify the right type of hinge to find a repair product for your keyboard.
You will find on our site the different types of hinges that we referenced. But it is possible that there are others for your keyboard that we do not have in stock yet.
For each keyboard we have identified with three photos the main hinges:
- A photo for the hinge of small keys (the keys F1 to F12).
- A photo for the hinge of the standard keys (like the keys numbers and letters of the alphabetic keyboard).
- A photo for the hinge of the large keys (the Backspace key, Shift etc ...)
Note that on a keyboard there may be more than three types of hinges, but we present only the main to simplify your choice.
If you want to repair for example the little F7 key, so compare your hinge with those we present in the left column (small key). And select the one that exactly matches your keyboard.
However, we strongly recommend that you use a letter key (standard key) to make your choice. Indeed the hinges of a letter keys are larger and easier to identify.
If you do not have a disassembled letter key, you can remove one easily (see our tutorial).
If this hinge selection operation seems difficult and you would like to benefit from our free support, you can simply send us a picture of your keyboard with a removed key. We will respond as quickly as possible.
